- Bid – All bidding is in timed auctions. With our sort and search features you can keep an eye on lots that interest you.
- Winners – We will assess a 15% buyer’s premium and a local sales tax of only 6.85%. All bottles are inspected for authenticity.
- Getting Your Bottles to You – When the auction ends, you can schedule an appointment to pick up the bottle at our facility or we can assist you with other options.
Collection and Shipping Policy
Collection Responsibility: Buyers are responsible for collecting purchased spirits either in person or via an authorized representative. Please contact Brown Bottle Auctions, LLC immediately after the auction ends to arrange collection.
Collection Recommendation: We highly recommend that Buyers collect their spirits in person. If you choose to use an agent, courier, common carrier, or third-party service, you assume all risks, including any potential legal issues related to delivery.
State Restrictions: Various states have laws restricting the transport of alcoholic beverages across state lines, which may affect your ability to purchase spirits from Brown Bottle Auctions, LLC. In some cases, you may need special permits or licenses, and additional taxes or fees might apply. Brown Bottle Auctions, LLC does not handle permits, licenses, or additional taxes/fees. Purchases that cannot be shipped due to restrictions must be collected from our Edwardsville, Illinois location, with applicable Illinois and Madison County sales tax paid before collection. Buyers should research their state’s laws prior to bidding to ensure compliance with all legal requirements for shipping spirits.
Shipping Disclaimer: Brown Bottle Auctions, LLC does not ship spirits directly and is not responsible for any shipments arranged by the Buyer. If you choose to ship via a common carrier, Brown Bottle Auctions, LLC will assist in coordinating with your preferred carrier. Please note that all sales are final, sold “as is,” and non-refundable due to shipping issues or tax obligations.
Legal Compliance: If you are not collecting in person, you must ensure that any authorized agents collecting spirits are at least 21 years old and legally eligible to receive alcohol. If shipping, you must provide a valid delivery address where an adult aged 21 or older will be present to sign for the delivery. Failure to comply with these requirements or refusal of delivery will result in return fees.
